INFORMATION
FOR PROFESSIONALS
Does your work bring you into
contact with unpaid carers?
Whether they are your patients, clients, employees or colleagues, carers have a tough job and they need support.
Carers need help in their own right.
If your work brings you into contact with carers,
you could give them, and those they care for, a major boost by sending them
to the Carers Link where we can tell them about the whole range of support
available and how to access it, from welfare benefits to respite care and
from transport to emotional support.
The additional help
may, in the long term,
reduce their
dependence on you.
We provide a
tailor-made information service which you, as a professional working with carers, are encouraged to use to help you support those
you work with.
We have a great deal of experience of working with carers
to help find ways to improve their lives and the lives of those they care
for. Please contact Carers Link on 01254 387444 or e-mail
info@carerslink.net for a ‘Professionals Information Pack’ and to find out
how Carers Link can benefit the carers you work
with.
Working
with young people
If
you are a teacher or if you work with young people in any capacity, you might
be dealing with young carers. They have very
specific needs to help them care whilst still being able to lead their own
lives.
You can access our Young Carers team for advice on supporting young carers by telephoning 01254 387666.
You may also work with young people with special needs whose parents may need
additional support. Find out how you can help them by calling 01254
387444.
We can send you regular updates on the
service we provide and a ‘Professional’s Information Pack’ which contains
information on our service and forms to refer carers
directly to us. If you would like to receive these, please contact us
on 01254 387444 or e-mail info@carerslink.net.
